Born in 1987, Shwarga Bhattacharjee is from Dhaka, Bangladesh. His work spans drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, installation, animation, and sound. His current projects delve into themes of existentialism, modern identity, post-colonial borders, migration, history, and South Asian culture. Shwarga received his MFA from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture and has been a fellow and artist-in-residence at institutions such as the Philadelphia Artist Residency, the Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA), the Da Vinci Art Alliance (DVAA), Chautauqua Visual Arts, Jentel Artists Residency, and the Britto Student Residency. Shwarga had his first solo at Twelve Gates Arts. He currently resides in Queens, New York.
